Here is an example of just how much $5USD can help. Huge difference. No cost.

1 day of training and 1 working day salary to stay out of the street.

The proposed project aims at setting-up a socially responsible business dedicated at training and rehabilitating marginalized youth in/around Bacolod City, Philippines. This business will be composed of an in-house training center and an in-house restaurant emphasizing on on-field learning and practicing. The project's innovation is based on the development of a comprehensive vocational training program focusing on Food & Beverage (F & B) services. Break-even point can be reached in 18 months.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
There are lack of training opportunities for young people, especially the most marginalized ones; lack of sustainable job opportunities for young people due to an informal and unrestricted labour market; poor working conditions for young people (underpaid, overworking hours); gender discrimination in training and employment opportunities; lack of coordination between training institutions and potential employment opportunities; poor development of the local food market ...

How will this project solve this problem?
There are numerous restaurants, cafes and bars located in Bacolod City, which have a significant impact on the labour market and the local economy. They hold potential opportunities of internships and/or employment for young trainees. Fortunately, french dishes are an new identified market and no french restaurant at the moment is available. After their training, the beneficiaries will be capable to be hired by local businesses operating in the food services industry in/around Bacolod City.

Potential Long Term Impact
This program intends to provide training services to at least 8 beneficiaries over the first year of operation (first training session). Upon the second year of operation, it will reach 15 trainees per session, i.e. 30 direct beneficiaries per year. Improvement of community integration thanks to the acknowledgement of the skills/competencies acquired over the theoretical and practical training. Increase of responsibility acting as a mature figure within the society thanks to the pro-added-value.

That can help to develop partially a social business for the youth, cover a working day salary of a youth, purchase goods to run a foods & beverage entrepreneurial training center

This project will be started next February 2014, so you will be able to come and eat at the French bistro where the beneficiaries will be working and learning. They will be pleased and honored to serve you their best french foods, cooked especially for you. Please, come and visit our Social French Bistro at Lacson Extension Street (before the bridge), in Bacolod City. Please call us at +639157788037 or email at [email protected] for a tasting :)
