Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia
Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia provides the 24/7 telephone and online crisis counselling service for anyone in Australia who has experienced or is at risk of sexual assault, family or domestic violence and their non-offending supporters.
The Service also provides face to face counselling services for women who were sexually assaulted in childhood from Women’s Health Centres across NSW.
The Service works with government, non-government, private bodies and individuals to ensure anyone who has experienced sexual assault, family or domestic violence has a clear pathway and access to equitable service provision.
In addition to working to ensure that those impacted by sexual, family or domestic violence are responded to with compassion and supported in their recovery, the Service also works to promote and foster positive attitudinal and behavioral change in relation to sexual, family and domestic violence in the Australian community. We undertake a range of research, and deliver training for service providers, as well as primary prevention initiatives.
Our vision of a world in which such violence no longer occurs.
Call connection costs paid by the Service to telecommunications providers to ensure those who access 24/7 telephone counselling are not charged.
