Here is an example of just how much $5USD can help. Huge difference. No cost.

$5 will pay for a one hour dance class for ten children

In 2005 the organisation's founder ("KK") began teaching break-dancing in his own home to kids he had seen working or living on the streets of Phnom Penh and involved in anti-social behaviour and drugs. Break-dancing - and the support and encouragement of KK - provided them with new focus, motivation and confidence and helped them to transform their lives.

Since then Tiny Toones has used the popularity of hip-hop among Cambodian youth to engage, inspire and educate thousands of young people from some of Cambodia's most impoverished slum areas. A permanent drop-in center was established in 2008 and over 200 children attend classes every day, not only in creative hip-hop arts but also English, Khmer, math, art and computing. Many of those who started in KK's front room are now performing professionally (and internationally, including Australia and New Zealand shows this year) and are teaching and inspiring the next generation of kids.

These classes - all provided for free - are often the only education being accessed by these children. Tiny Toones provides a safe environment and a community in which they can enjoy learning and explore their creativity. Tiny Toones was one of only three projects worldwide to be shortlisted for the UNICEF Sport for Education award at the 2012 Beyond Sport awards. It has achieved extensive media coverage in publications such as the New York Times, the LA Times, and the Age in Australia.

A fun interactive, dance class for ten children. Dancing is physically and mentally demanding and promotes active lifestyles and a sense of achievement. The dance classes act as a pathway into Tiny Toones education classes. At least 90% of those attending dance classes will also attend one or more of Tiny Toones education classes (in English, Khmer and computer skills).

The project can be visited on the last Friday, from 2-4pm, of every month for our end of month dance party. To arrange a visit e-mail [email protected]
